In October 2021, The World’s Best Connectors and Arizona State University hosted the Diversity in Tech Leadership Conference. At this hybrid event (which garnered over 20,000 online impressions), government, academic, and business leaders discussed the challenges that have hindered the hiring and promotion of women, people of color, 2SLGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities into C-suites and onto boards of directors of tech companies.
Diversifying Tech: new methods are needed to produce a diverse labor force.
Companies throughout the country are struggling to adapt to the rapid changes occurring in the workforce. However, many see this as a chance to increase the number of persons from underrepresented groups in technology. As a result, many groups, both governmental and private, have made efforts to broaden the makeup of the technology industry’s workforce in recent years.
